Thesis Statement

Hip Hop music started unpopular in other cultures, but technological advances such as internet and programs like YouTube spread it globally and change its artist’s perspective of the world.

This source is an article from our school databases. It discusses the advantage of marketing music by posting videos on YouTube website. It describes some examples of Hip Hop artists that became famous by making videos available on YouTube. This source is reliable because it is from our school databases; it is not like Wikipedia that anyone has an access to post whatever they know. The article also has references at the bottom of the page, to show the places where the author found those information. I will use this source as a way to support my thesis statement. To show that internet and programs such as YouTube also helped hip hop music to spread globally.

Hip Hop Life

This article is written by DeSean Walker, an 18 years old African American student. In this article he is describing how Hip Hop music is important to him. He appreciates it and that is why he has some connection when he listens to it. He defined it by saying that Hip Hop is a reflection of things that are surrounded by us, or in other words it is a collection of things that happen every day in our life. Hip Hop is provides him with a sense of hope and passion. Finally, this article gives you an idea that music is more than just a kind of entertainment for some, while for other it doesn’t mean anything, it is just for fun.

 I am really happy because I was there during her presentation; she did an amazing job by helping the girls of Afghanistan.  She opens their paths for a brilliant future; she provided them with chances to get an education. We know that in some country like Afghanistan it is hard for women to attend schools, especially because of the war. During her speech, she said that a lot of people tried to stop her but they didn't impede her from build the school. Further, she described some bad situations that women go through in Afghanistan, it is sad compared to other countries, how women have their freedom to do whatever they want. She also described how hard it is for the girls to get in schools.  She explained how she got the money to build the school. Finally, I know that it is difficult but I am happy at the same time because now these girls have an opportunity to get their education. I am very thankful to Raiza; she opens their door for success.

This video here is an example of a bad interview tips because the candidates seem too much distracted or in other words they aren't focusing on what they are doing. All of them are acting like if they know the person for a long time or like if they are at home with family. They don’t seem interested in getting a job at all. They show some examples of things that you should avoid because it is too much distracting, like cell phone, laughing and among other things that aren't covered on this video. All of them are dressed appropriate for an interview. The only problem is that they are acting inappropriate and don’t have an eye contact at all.

Jon Stewart, Commencement Address

I read this essay called Jon Stewart, Commencement Address in which he talked about his experience in college as a student. He discussed different things that he went through while he was in college and that why he wants to encourage other students to do well in college. Further, he covers different aspects and communities in college. He talked about his own experiences as a graduate student. Finally, I think that this essay is really interesting because it gives you a sense of things that happen frequently in college and a lot of information about things that are possible to happen in any collage.

Collage

My digital collage is going fine; I found some pictures and videos that I want to include. However, I agree to work on my collage without worrying about a title, since it is taking me so longer to come up with a title. “Facebook: Editing Myself “

For this week I read this essay called “Facebook: Editing Myself “about a college instructor named Mrigaa Sethi who describes herself as an enjoyable person and among other things on her Facebook profile. Like we studied identity can be created through the choices that we make, culture but it is not only about the things we are born with. Like this Professor, we can describe her identity just by seeing the description about herself on Facebook. Moreover, I personally believe that Facebook is one of the worst websites to keep in touch with others because it might shape your identity in a negative way, like what happened to this college professor. Now it makes me believe and also agree at the same time that we create our identity, it is not only about what we are born with. This common situation shows us an example that Facebook is dangerous and we should think twice before putting anything that might embarrass ourselves from the rest of the world.
